Ed and I were married for more than thirty years. He was my hero. He was a very good trial attorney. From the beginning of his trial career as a Deputy District Attorney in 1975 to his retirement as House Counsel for State Farm Insurance in 2005, he consistently showed the mastery of his craft. His medical knowledge, acquired as a Corpsman in Viet Nam, served him well as a trial attorney. I wonder how many people know he delivered three babies as a Corpsman while in Viet Nam. He loved his dogs as our children and deeply mourned their passing when their time came. We had many good times camping in our trailer and showing our dogs in confirmation. Ed especially enjoyed camping at Carpenteria State Beach, near Santa Barbara California. Ed was very patriotic. He belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, Order of Founders and Patriots of America, and the Pilgrim John Howland Society. As a member of his local SAR, Ed loved to participate in parades and color guard activities as a member of the 4th Connecticut unit. His loud and clear voice was aptly put to good use in the parading of his unit. His colorful and precise writing efforts, as evidenced by his many trial writing efforts, were also seen in the newslettter, The Rivulet, which he wrote for 12 years. Ed was also a co-founder of Riverside California's English Country Dance Group, The George and Martha Washington Cotillion. Ed was a man of many talents. His integrity, determination, sense of humor, and honor were admired and loved by many. His likeness will be hard to replace. I will miss him always. Vickie St. Germain, Grand Terrace, California
