On behalf of the reunion committee of Arlington High School ~ classes of 1963, '64, and '65... In 2004 Ed lived in California and flew East to attend his first class reunion in many years. We had our "Friday night get-aquainted" gathering at Coco's in Hyde Park. In the crowded entrance area, people were arriving… signing in, and getting name badges to avoid embarressment. Saint walked by a few of us greeters at the next door with his name badge, wearing a Barry Goldwater political button on his lapel. He smiled...said hello.. looked in the room where classmates were gathering and asked, "Where are all the kids??" A few years later, he moved back to New York… we kept in touch, and graciously he expressed a desire to help with the next reunion coming up in 2008. YES!!! Saint was every bit helpful, giving, caring, and extremely intelligent! He volunteered his time and expertise building and maintaining a website for our combined classes....Which involved: continually updating bios, uploading numerous photos, AND most important ~ 'Webmaster Saint' would help us with our technical questions and concerns. Saint resolved our questions immediately! it was like.. he was online waiting for us! Living in Ossining, about an hour drive to Poughkeepsie... Saint & Susan (OR Saint & Smiley) as he would often sign emails... faithfully attended our reunion committee meetings once a month in all kinds of weather. On Friday 08/08/08 it was 'showtime'.....Reunion weekend! We were blessed with beautiful weather for three glorious days. Saint and Susan were very instrumental in making our August of 2008 reunion a huge success! Six months after our reunion weekend on February 9th, a dear friend and committee person, Kathi Briggs Zeoli, class of 1964 sadly..passed away. It was that same day that I received an email from Saint regarding his onset with cancer. We have now sadly lost a very dedicated gentleman and committee person Ed St. Germain. He will certainly be remembered forever. In closing..... Ed would always sign his emails: short and sweet...........BEST, Saint But friend, we will remember you as the "BEST" SAINT! Thanks for all your help ~ Karen Light Rugar AHS Class of '63
