Around midnight, May 19th, in Phelps Hospital Emergency Room - we'd been there for at least 6 hours, at this point -- Dr. Peter Lawrence came back into Ed's cubicle, having seen results of yet another test, and said, shaking his head, "Sir, I salute you! You must be in terrible pain, but you do not complain. You wait patiently, while we poke you and question you and do our tests on you."
