It's true that Ed wasn't impressed by "hype" (or BS as someone referred to it). When he was over here with Susan last year, visiting England for the first time, we went out for a traditional Dorset Cream Tea. Having been "enlightened" on how to mix clotted cream and strawberry jam on half of a scone, eaten same, along with sips of tea, he merely remarked: "So THAT'S a cream tea."
